Discover Hot Rocks

If you're in Bournemouth and looking for a memorable dining experience, Hot Rocks is a place you shouldn't miss. Nestled along the Pier Approach, this charming restaurant offers a unique dining concept where guests can enjoy their meals on hot volcanic stones, allowing them to cook their food just the way they like it.

The menu at Hot Rocks is a delightful mix of fresh, high-quality ingredients. Their philosophy revolves around providing a fun and interactive dining experience, where the focus is on both taste and presentation. Whether you’re a meat lover, a seafood enthusiast, or a vegetarian, there’s something for everyone. The star of the show is, of course, the sizzling hot rocks. You get to choose from a selection of meats, fish, and even vegetables, which you cook right at your table. This interactive experience not only enhances the flavor but also gives you control over how your dish is prepared.

One of the restaurant’s most popular dishes is their signature steak on the stone. A juicy cut of steak is served alongside the heated stone, and diners can sear their steak to their preferred level of doneness. The high temperature of the stone ensures that the meat remains juicy while developing a delicious caramelized crust. If you’re not in the mood for steak, their seafood options are just as impressive. Fresh fish fillets and prawns come with a side of seasonal vegetables, perfect for grilling on the stone.

For those who prefer a lighter meal, the menu also offers a variety of fresh salads, including a tangy Greek salad and a vibrant mixed greens option. Alongside the mains, you can also enjoy an array of sides, from crispy fries to creamy mashed potatoes, all perfectly complementing the rich flavors of the hot-stone-cooked dishes.

The ambiance at Hot Rocks is as inviting as its menu. The interior is modern, with sleek wooden tables and an open kitchen that gives a peek into the restaurant’s culinary action. The relaxed yet lively atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for both casual dining and special occasions. Whether you're enjoying a night out with friends or celebrating a family gathering, Hot Rocks makes every meal feel like an event.

Service is another standout feature. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to explain the hot-stone cooking process and offer recommendations. Their passion for food is evident, and they take pride in ensuring that every guest has an enjoyable dining experience.

The restaurant’s location, right near Bournemouth Pier, adds to its appeal. After your meal, you can take a stroll along the seafront, making it the perfect spot to spend an evening with friends, family, or even on a romantic date. Whether you’re a local or visiting Bournemouth for the first time, Hot Rocks provides a unique and delicious dining experience that’s hard to beat.

What’s more, the restaurant consistently receives rave reviews for its combination of quality, atmosphere, and the interactive experience it provides. Diners love the idea of cooking their food on the stone, and many highlight the freshness of the ingredients and the skillful preparation. It’s clear that Hot Rocks is a favorite among locals and tourists alike, and its reputation continues to grow.

Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty steak, fresh seafood, or a lighter salad, Hot Rocks offers an experience that goes beyond just eating - it’s a fun and flavorful journey that makes dining a memorable occasion.

  • Day out with family and found this place on a Google search. Excellent food. Good price. Dog friendly. Lovely atmosphere with music playing. Free fast WiFi. We sat outside but inside is also lovely. Would definitely visit again.

  • Our first time at Hot Rocks on holiday visited on 09/07/25. Booked our table for 7pm friendly welcome good choice of non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. My partner had the burger was the best burger his ever tasted in along time. Good quality meat and was juicy was really delicious. I had a pizza again best pizza have tasted in a long time a gain freshly made not doughy. I had trimasu and my partner had ice cream. I had a mocktail my partner had lager. The service we had was very good staff were friendly. There is a service charge on the bill which was worth it. I would go again if looking for a special night or special occasion as a treat on holiday. We then went back and sat outside just for a drink looking out at the sea watching the sunset. I definately recommend this place when on holiday.

  • We went here twice, once for dinner amd once for lunch when we were here. The dinner was great. at the time only the pizza menu was available so thats something to consider. we had a caprisosa, the pizza rosso (added red onion and mushrooms which i really recomend), inferno and more. Everyone was very satesfyed with their pizzas. We also ordered the garlic bread and the foccacia which i dont recomend, the foccacia was just a baked pizza bottom with no toping and nothing like a foccacia at all. For lunch we started with some coffees and hot drinks and they were all amazing. we had the luau chicken, the chicken salad, beef chilli with rice, fish and chips and katanoi and we were all very satesfyed. Overall the pizzas and lunch menu was all great, so was the drinks and coffees. but i’d skip the garlic bread and foccacia

  • Had lunch here. Wraps and fries were tasty, just a bit too much sauce so it all came apart and was messy to eat. If you want a quick bite and good service right next to the beach this is perfect. It was very quiet when we were there which is why a lower atmosphere score

  • Located directly next to the Bournemouth pier, this Hawaiian themed restaurant has loads of character and offers a diverse menu of tasty options. All our food arrived within 10 minutes though it wasn’t too busy when we dined here.
